Mariah Liggett has a doctorate in Exercise Physiology and also a “doctorate” in the sport of Powerlifting. As a 30-year veteran world class Powerlifter, she used her PHD to become an aficionado of the competitive squat, bench press and deadlift. With world records in the open women’s divisions, and advanced scientific research background, Mariah has taken sophisticated competitive training and remarkable poundages to a superior level.
Her Academic and Powerlifting expertise is now focused on producing the exciting new strength sport: POWER X. Creating a sport for all ‘gym rats and power-people,” Mariah has trademarked a new adventure in weight lifting. POWERX attracts the enthusiastic sportsperson to perform poundage for repetitions in three exercises: The Power Clean, The Bench Press and The Deadlift. Accepted in the 2015 Arnold Fitness Expo, POWER X Sport made its debut and showcased seriously strong new strength athletes!
Committing over 3 decades to serious strength training, her motto remains: “WHEN IN DOUBT, GO WORK OUT!” Born in Marysville and residing in Columbus, Mariah is a loyal resident of the Greatest Strength State in the USA: O-H-I-O!
